New Playground Promotes Outdoor Learning
CHATTANOOGA, TN, May 13, 2011 - A large group of lucky preschoolers and their families assembled together at Aleph Bet Children’s Center in Chattanooga, TN to celebrate the dedication and blessing of their brand new playground, made by Play & Park Structures. Presiding over the day’s festivities were Michael Dzik, Director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga, and Aleph Bet’s director, Vicki Cathcart. Ms. Cathcart acknowledged the many generous donors who contributed funds towards this amazing new play space, as parents, grandparents, and staff shared a toast of apple juice and the traditional sharing of Challah bread.
During the dedication ceremony, Cathcart expressed gratitude to Amanda Epperson, a Play & Park Structures playground Rep, citing her dedicated involvement as a key contributor to the successful outcome of the project. According to Cathcart, “We are thrilled to have this unique and engaging new playground space for our children to enjoy. Our decision to select a Play & Park playground was primarily influenced by the standards-based curriculum kit that was included in the purchase, providing added outdoor learning opportunities for the children.” The new playground also features a poured-in-place surfacing material that provides comfort and cushion underfoot while the children play.
